A BLOG OF MY FAVORITE LINES FROM THE LORD OF THE RINGS

This first one isn't actually found in the books, only in the movie, but its one of Peter Jackson's better inventions.

Arwen to Aragorn: "Your time will come. You will face the same evil, and you will defeat it."
What is so impressive about this line and the way its delivered is that you feel Arwen's absolute confidence in Aragorn. She completely believes that he will prevail and that they will be together. Her strength is amazing.

Gandalf: "Many live that deserve death. And some die that deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. For even the very wise cannot see all ends."

Sam: "Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer....I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something."

Frodo: "What are we holding on to Sam?"

Sam: "That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for."

"The hands of the King are the hands of a healer, and so the rightful king could ever be known."

Aragorn to Eowyn: "What do you fear my lady?"

Eowyn: "A cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them, and all chance of doing great deeds has gone beyond recall or desire."

Aragorn: "You are a daughter of kings, a shieldmaiden of Rohan. I do not think that shall be your fate."

Sam: "I can't carry it for you....but I can carry you."

And of course:

"NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST"!

This is my family. Yes we are tall freaks! In the back row, my brother Jeremy on the left and dad Roger on the right are both about six-foot-six. They make Kristi, my brother's wife (pictured in the middle) look short, even though she's five-foot-nine.

I'm the blonde sitting in front. My mom, Barb, is next to me, and Pepper the cat on my lap.
